Grass in a Box

Wednesday, 30 June 2010

My nephew is planning to replace someone’s lawn. Sorry, “replacing” is the wrong word as it suggests he has some remaining grass work with when what he is faced with is an overgrown garden stuffed with weeds or bare earth.

Actually, Blame Stuart Hall

Monday, 28 June 2010

Forget Sepp Blatter, the goal that wasn’t given or a rank bad English display, I reckon the cause of our demise was the curse of Stuart Hall, Gary Lineker and Walkers Crisps. If you haven’t seen the tv ads, they have produced fifteen flavours for the World Cup, and see where it got the teams?

Life’s Little Irritants – No 15

Tuesday, 22 June 2010

There isn’t much that gets me shouting at the tv and radio. Well not since the last England game. Oh, and the budget earlier today. And whenever that stupid Go Compare advert appears. And… Okay, so maybe I shout at inanimate objects more than is healthy, but it is absolutely guaranteed when people start mangling the language. I was wandering through the living room last night and caught some of those “Police! Stop! Death! Smash!” programmes and there was an officer on the phone to some woman. He was telling [...]
