103 People that Changed the WorldThe painting above is the work of Chinese artists Dai Dudu, Li Tiezi, and Zhang An, and shows 103 people that changed the world discussing The Divine Comedy with Dante.

Apart from being an interesting creation, if you click on it to go to the web page, a ‘mouse over’ will tell you who each one is and link to Wikipedia and other sites.

The eclectic mix includes Marie Curie, Maxim Gorky, Bruce Lee, Lewis Carroll, Bill Gates, Napoleon and Osama bin Laden and even slebs who look like camels.

It really cheered me up on the day when we heard that an old college friend of Mrs P’s was killed last week in bizarre and horrific circumstances and so soon after she was reminiscing about him with their mutual friend in the US.

This is phenomenal, in the sense of “a phenomenon”…How bizarre!

I am working on a companion post inspired by this one.

How the hell did Prince Charles get in the picture? And the Iron Whore! They’ve also missed out Ken Wagstaff, Dean Windass and Joshua Tetley.

Wouldn’t you just love to eavesdrop on a conversation between Dante and Shirley Temple? No? How about Dante and Osama bin Laden?

The absurdity becomes more and more obvious.

This picture reminds me of the Writer’s Mural by Peter Dodd which is at Barter Books in Alnwick – http://www.barterbooks.co.uk/html/mural.php . x
