Good For Nothing

With all the problems with Bingo, Buy Nothing Day completely passed me by on Saturday which is a pity because as a concept it quite appeals — learning to live with less. Not sure if the Parrot chicks would support the idea though. Both are well-practiced in the art of the consumer and Mrs Parrot has her moments too.

And I suspect that any enthusiasm on my part for a Buy Nothing Christmas is unlikely to be requited either. Miss Parrot might just go for it on the basis that she has already had her main prezzie — a new bed, her bedroom decorated and even a new carpet after Mrs P managed to drop a full tin of white emulsion on the one we were intending to keep.

All in all, an expensive weekend so I’m consoling myself by listening to Buy Nothing At All by Joel Kroeker.
