Organ Retention

I picked this document today, Stories that can change your life: communities challenging health inequalities. Basically a series of case studies of minority communities getting to grips with improving their health and all very laudable stuff it is. However, the very first case had this highlighted opening para:

“A community group in Southampton has produced beautiful and original textiles … including a patchwork quilt and an apron with stick on pictures of internal organs.”

Well I just fell about laughing at the image this conjured up. This may seem very un-pc of me, but I wasn’t laughing at the people involved in the project, but at the plonker who could write such an unqualified statement and not spot how surreal it reads. Or maybe they did.

Nobody’s prefect. If you find any spelling mistakes or other errors in this post, please let me know by highlighting the text and pressing Ctrl+Enter.
