Thanks for your advice over where to get my new PC, but in the end I relented and went to PC World and bought myself an Advent system. I had to strike while the iron was hot once Mrs P had sanctioned the expenditure.
That’s why I have been quiet this week. Tuesday evening was spent dismantling my ageing and ailing old PC and setting up the new one. Last night I connected the printer and began loading all sorts of software. Tonight I want to just sit back and enjoy.
And it will be enjoyment because using the new PC has been like stepping out of a clapped banger and getting behind the wheel of a Lamborghini. Okay, so maybe I’m over-egging it for a middle-range PC, but that’s how it feels to me.
Certainly not in my nephew’s class though. He’s in the process of building his own PC and the parts alone have cost three times what I paid for mine. It’s going to be an all-singing all-dancing iced-water cooled monster of machine and if mine is like a sports car, his will be a bloody jet fighter.
If he finishes it. He was a bit taken aback by the number of components and wires that he’s got to fit together. As he says, it will either be the above mentioned or a very expensive bonfire if when he plugs it in the whole thing goes kaput.
what pc is that?
