My first post using broadband, at least from my PC. Getting the right bit helped. Nephew ordered an Ethernet Bridge rather the piece we needed. No wonder it took several weeks of head-scratching to work out why it wasn’t.

Hopefully, I can now be your more than regular correspondent, not relying on a bit of ‘downtime’ at work or hooking up my laptop in Mrs P’s office. It most certainly won’t be funnier or cutting-edge, just regular. As in All-Bran.

I am going to write a eulogy in praise of the Call-centre. I have been much impressed. Honest.

“You are in a queue: (The various commands to push button one to whatever ignored.) But through I got, asked for my custoner ID number, “And how’s the weather in Stockport?”

Looks out of window, “Fine now, but it has been raining.”

“Thought I’d ask. I’m travelling through Stockport tomorrow.”

Gasp! Not only does this bloke sound reassuringly Scottish, he not only lives on the same planet as I do, he knows Stockport, at least to travel through. Well most of us do, the Pyramid and that.

On which note I leave on a triumphant note.

That pyramid's not that great inside. Pretty cluttered officed (pokey, too) and maintenance department.

Used to be one of the sites I looked after with my last job 🙂
