I rarely, if ever, shout for a Liverpool FC victory, but I made an exception today. The reason? Easy as ABC — Anyone But Cheslea. Childish I know, but I don’t care.
Last weekend I listened to the footie phone-in on Five Live and they had a Cheslea fan on. He was asked whether he regretted going out of the Champions League. “No,” he replied, “it’s more important to win the domestic double.”
Unusually, I will be cheering Arsenal on in a couple of weeks (and also Fulham). Both have games at the Stadium of Plight and 1 or 3 points for each at both matches ensures the mackems set a record as the first team in football league history to go a whole season without a home win.
*crosses fingers*
I’m with you on this one, not because I have anything against Sunderland, but just another nadir we can’t be threatened by!
