Spring Clean

Thesis ThemeIt the time of year to clear out clutter, blow off the dust and give things a bit of a polish and I started with my blog template.

This is something I’ve been meaning to do for a while. The coding on my old theme had got a bit bloated, slowing it down, although that was mainly down to me messing around with too many WordPress plugins.

The real impetus though was splashing out on the Thesis Theme Framework, something I’ve been meaning to do for a while. I can’t say I’ve got my head round it yet, certainly not to the extent of some of the sites you see that use it, but it has been fun.

I particularly like the ‘teasers’ underneath the most recent post which omits any images and really cuts down the length of the page that visitors probably down scroll down anyway.

I’ve also added the Mobile Pack which means Shooting Parrots can be read on the move should you really want to.

Anyway, all this has kept me happy for the past couple of days. All I have to do now is get out the feather duster and start on the house.

I’ve changed by blog logo exactly twice. “Paranoia strikes deep in the heartland.”

That would be “MY BLOG LOGO.” Oh that I could type…

Looking back, I’m not sure what persuaded me that it would be a good idea to design my own blog theme. (I’m only averagely artistic) Now I’m becoming obsessive about it!

When you get out the feather duster, be sure to wear fishnet stockings and suspenders with your frilly Manchester United pinafore but make sure it’s not the day the window cleaner calls round!
Quote:- “some of the sites you se that use it”. I am sure you will quickly SEE why I have quoted this.
