The one time I do drink more coffee than tea is when I’m away on holiday no matter where that might be, and so it was when we were in Las Vegas.
As we stayed at our friends’ place most of the time, it became quite a ritual to put on a pot of coffee first thing in the morning that I enjoyed with a splash of International Delight French Vanilla creamer.
I’ve obviously banged on about this since we got back and the not so subtle hints have worked because my present from the kids on Fathers’ Day was a rather neat coffee maker like the one on the right, plus coffee grinder.
Fresh ground coffee with cream and sweetened with vanilla or caramel syrup – absolutely delicious.
The problem is the caffeine overload has been making me as jittery as a kitten, so much so that it feels like I’m sleeping with my eyes open.
So it’s either a case of cutting back on the coffee or getting some decaffeinated coffee beans* which rather defeats the object as far as I’m concerned.
* Coffee beans aren’t beans at all, but seeds, like the stone in a cherry.
