For the first time in years, we have no fireworks with which to celebrate Bonfire Night on its 400th anniversary. I did try but when I popped into the local newsagent, they had completely sold out.
I suspect that this is because the nearest supermarket, Morrisons, doesn’t sell fireworks, whether on ethical or commercial grounds I’m not sure, while last year, as Safeway, it sold masses of them. Read more ›››
Well, it’s been some time, but I’m back. I had a couple of weeks holiday followed by a busy week back at work, a weak excuse, but the best I can come up with at short notice. We managed a couple of days away in York in that time, but more of that later.
Guy Fawkes Night happened this week. It’s a time of the year I’ve always enjoyed. I suppose boys never grow out of playing with fireworks. We had out bonfire party last night and what a great time that was. Lots of alcohol, friends, neighbours, tatter ‘ash and plenty fireworks. Read more ›››
